Dialog Systems in Traffic Environment

This paper focuses on specific problems of dialog systems in the car environment which are dealt with in two projects concerning navigation systems and information on the car itself. Drivers' capacities and traffic safety propose speech only dialog systems. We will give insight in some requirements for the design of speech interfaces. As their possibilities are limited, however, graphical add-ons have to be elaborated. We will discuss the problems of the combination on the background of the main modus of speech.
