An Information and Services Manager has been developed in order to provide user-customized information and services through a speech interface. The ISM has three main functions: search and download documents of interest to a user, summarize available information according to the user’s preference, and allow the user to query and search for additional information. The ISM employs a user profile to select services and documents, as well as to define the presentation format. It also provides the information needed for the Auto-Dialogue Generator module to create language models for automatic speech recognition and for text-to-speech system prompts.
