Dialogue Move Recognition using Topic Spotting Techniques

This paper presents some initial results of a data-driven approach to dialogue modeling based on techniques which have proved successful in speech topic spotting. The basic theory and its relationship with other approaches will be described. Results of experiments in which these methods are compared when applied to the problem of recognizing dialogue moves in the Map Task Corpus[4] will be presented.
