On Coordinated Assessment Efforts in France

This paper describes assessment efforts currently under way in France. Since many aspects are still being worked on, the information is being communicated in the hope that it may spur international cooperation, which is essential to any future assessment effort. The main effort detailed here concerns the content of a recently proposed French AFNOR standard for recognizer assessment that makes use of elements which are or will soon be available from separate GRECO, SAM, and DARPA projects.
