This paper presents the architecture and the procedural aspects of a psycholinguistic motivated concept- to-speech system. The SYNPHONICS system covers the incremental generation of utterances from prelinguistic conceptual structures to the formation of semantic, syntactic, phonological (including prosodic), phonetic-articulatory, and acoustic structures, controlling a speech synthesis module.
