Congratulations on a successful INTERSPEECH 2014!
[19-Sept-2014] INTERSPEECH 2014 was successfully concluded in Singapore on 18 September 2014. We embraced a theme 'celebrating the diversity of spoken languages'. The technical programs were attended by over 1100 participants from 47 countries/regions. 614 technical papers were presented. Congratulations to the new ISCA Medalist Professor Anne Cutler, and six new ISCA Fellows Jim Glass, Dilek Hakkani-Tür, Michael Picheny, Isabel Trancoso, Jacqueline Vaissière, Bayya Yegnanarayana! The next INTERSPEECH will be in Dresden, Germany on 6-10 September 2015!

[10-Sept-2014] Interspeech 2014 participants will soon be on their way to Singapore. The organizing team led by Professors Haizhou Li, the General Conference Chair and Pak-Chung Ching, the General Conference Co-Chair, and the local arrangements team led by Dr. Swee Lan See, are very much looking forward to welcoming all conference participants to Singapore. The technical program co-chairs, Professor Helen Meng and Dr. Bin Ma, have put together an exciting technical program comprising 614 accepted papers which will be presented in 42 oral sessions, 30 poster sessions and 6 special sessions. Aims. The purpose of SLaTE is to: promote interest in the use of speech and natural language processing for education; provide members of ISCA with a special interest in speech and language technology in education with a means of exchanging news of recent research developments and other matters of interest in Speech and Language Technology in Education; sponsor meetings and workshops on that subject that appear to be timely and worthwhile, operating within the framework of ISCA's by-laws for SIGs; provide and make available resources relevant to speech and language technology in education, including text and speech corpora, analysis tools, analysis and generation software, research papers and generated data.

ISCA Summer School: Speech Processing Courses in Crete (University of Crete, Heraklion, Crete, Greece, August 4-8, 2014)
[18-June-2014] This ISCA Summer School is co-organized with the University of Crete, Greece. The Speech Processing Courses in Crete (SPCC) aim to teach graduate students and researchers the latest advancements of speech processing, using both theoretical and hands-on sessions, and establish contacts between the academics and industry. In 2014, the courses cover these areas: speech production and modelling, mechanisms of hearing, speech intelligibility and hearing aids, statistical spoken dialog systems, and distant speech recognition.
