[14-Mar-2013] ISCA secretariat now call for you to vote in the 2013 ISCA Board Election. We are pleased to announce 28 qualified nominations for vacant seats on the ISCA board. According to the ISCA by-laws, you are invited to vote for any number of candidates from 0 to 28 in the 2013 ISCA Board Election. Each vote has equal weight.

[11-Dec-2012] The ISCA Board currently has 14 members from 11 countries (see full list below). Members are elected to the Board for a period of four years and no member may serve on the Board for more than two consecutive terms. The following Board members will have served for two consecutive terms in August: Isabel Trancoso, Jean-Francois Bonastre, David House, and Michael Picheny, and thus these four will be retiring.

According to the ISCA by-laws, elections to the Board will take place in April-May 2013. We invite nominations from the ISCA membership. Each nomination requires the support of three members of the Association and agreement from the candidate (e.g., by email). The ISCA statutes specify a maximum of three Board members from any one country. Each ISCA member will be asked to cast a anonymous ballot in the election, via a survey website.

Members elected to the Board will be expected to have one of the areas of responsibility listed below, to commit time to furthering the work of ISCA in their area, to attend the two-day Board meetings that take place at each annual INTERSPEECH conference and to participate in additional virtual meetings during the year (teleconferences). All candidates should be aware of these obligations and commit themselves to fulfilling them before agreeing to be nominated.

Call for Satellite Workshops during INTERSPEECH 2013

[18-May-2011] The Organizing Committee of InterSpeech 2013 invites proposals for satellite workshops at InterSpeech 2013, which will be held in Lyon, FRANCE on 25-29 August 2013. The theme of InterSpeech 2013 is “Speech in life science and human societies".

The Organizing Committee would be pleased to host various workshops and conferences organized as satellite events of InterSpeech 2013 in order to stimulate research fields and disciplines related to speech and language. If you are interested in organizing a satellite workshop, or would like a planned event to be listed as an official satellite event, please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The Satellite Workshop coordinator can also help you to connect with local contacts in different places in France located less than 3 hours from Lyon by train or car (Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, Grenoble, Montpellier, Paris, etc.).

• estimated number of participants
• a short description of the motivation for the workshop
• an outline of the program
• a list of the technical/scientific committee members.
