The post-doctoral research fellow will work within the Integrated Language Technologies Track of the Centre for Next Generation Localisation (CNGL), a centre funded by Science Foundation Ireland. The primary purpose of the role is to produce high quality academic research in the area of Speech Technology, investigating in particular natural language interaction in speech-to-speech translation. Research will focus broadly on context and chunking of spoken language content in order to create more fluent and natural speech-to-speech translation. The post-doctoral fellow will work with the MUSTER Speech Technology Group at UCD and the Social Interaction Group at Trinity College Dublin (TCD) and will be co-mentored by Prof. Julie Berndsen (UCD) and Prof. Nick Campbell (TCD). The post will also involve specific collaboration with the Machine Translation Group within the CNGL Integrated Language Technologies Track at Dublin City University (DCU).
