Phd studentship on “Automatic transcription of lectures” at University of Avignon (France)

This position is granted by a collaboration between the LIA (computer science lab of Avignon's University) and the French company “Xtensive Technology”. The topic is the use of metadata (summarize, speaker identity, topics, etc.) for automatic transcription of lectures. The Phd students will work with the Computer Science lab. of University of Avignon, with the speech processing group.

Requirements : candidates must have a strong background in C++ programming and unix system (shells, perl). They must be confortable in French and English languages.

Duration of contract: 3 years from 1^st March 2007.
