Panasonic Digital Networking Laboratory (San Jose, CA, USA)

has an opening for a self-motivated individual to work on advanced front-end processing for multilingual speech technology and dialog systems.
Initial target will be front-end processing for Multilingual Text-To-Speech conversion.

The candidate must have at least two years of experience in developing TTS technology, with strong expertise in text processing, language modeling, syntactic parsing, semantic analysis, and prosody generation including phrasing, pausing, and word prominence.

The preferred candidate has a strong theoretical background as well as development skills, and is able to develop cross-platform software with deep knowledge of Linux, Windows, C/C++, and scripting languages (Perl).

A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or another relevant discipline is required; a Ph.D. is preferred.

Foreign language skills are a definite plus.

Candidates without the required qualifications need not apply.
