Phonetic Arts was founded in 2006 by Paul Taylor (formerly of Rhetorical Systems, and Universities of Edinburgh and Cambridge) with the aim of producing world leading products in speech technology. We have achieved significant sales and investment in our first 18 months which lead to profitability in 2007. During 2008 we plan to launch new products and expand our technical and commercial teams internationally. We are currently expanding our R&D team, and have positions open for: 1. Unit selection research 2. HMM synthesis 3. Speech signal processing 4. Professional services (voice building, speech database collection etc) The candidates must have good programming skills and experience in speech technology research or development. Beyond this, experience in the areas of HMM synthesis, HMMs for speech recognition, speech signal processing and unit selection synthesis is highly desirable.
