This paper describes the analysis results about register of Vietnamese tones in continuous speech. The obtained results show that the classification of the registers of Vietnamese tones into two groups (high and low) which is commonly used in isolated words is not appropriate in continuous speech. The register of tone has to be considered in a specific context because of the influence of tonal coarticulation effect.
