Computationally Efficient Methods of Calculating Instantaneous Frequency for Auditory Analysis

This paper proposes a novel, computationally efficient approach to the estimation of instantaneous frequency for auditory analysis. A comparison is made between this approach and a computationally efficient implementation of the analytic signal approach to IF estimation. A method that uses zero-crossings and higher order statistics is also described and compared to the above.
