High qualitymusic coders use an auditory masked threshold to account for the characteristics of the human ear. The masked thresholds calculated by these coders do not correspond to the theoretical threshold, solution of a non linear constrained deconvolution problem because of the huge complexity required. We present a binary allocation algorithm solving at the same time the deconvolution problem, while maintaining a tolerable complexity.
