A new robust double talk detector (DTD) for acoustic echo cancellation is proposed. This detector uses the square norm of the adaptive filter weight vector as the detection criterion. A fast algorithm for the norm computation is also developed. Simulations showthat the proposed DTD method can significanlty outperform conventional algorithms in noisy environments.
