This study focuses on the prosodic characteristics of the productions of two monolingual French children aged 12 to 36 months. More specifically, we explore the influence of age and language development (MLU; mean length of utterance in morphemes) on the acoustic realization of initial stress (AI) and afinal stress (AF) in utterances containing a filler or a determiner followed by a bisyllabic noun. For the two children, the results show that the fillers disappear quickly in favor of the determinants and that there is an increase in the proportion of AI through the ages, as well as a stabilization of the duration of AF and duration ratios between AI and AF. The shape of the intonation contours is taken into account in order to report on the acoustic variation of the phonological representations of the stress. Moreover, the differences in MLU explain the inter-individual variation between the two children.
