Now the pilot becomes a system manager in constant interaction with a 4D world through a complex avionic system .
A prospective analysis of the existing technologies shows the feasibility of a sophisticated multimedia system. Various cockpit concepts have already been proposed and here we discuss the large interactive display concept designed for an efficient man-machine interface. Finally we describe an experimental architecture for evaluating pilot to system interactions using eye, voice or hand actuation and our preliminary human factor results.
