In the following paper, the application of several speech processing techniques for the realisation of a user interface for mobile telephones and the resulting impacts on the algorithms is described. For the enhancement of traffic security, use of a mobile telephone in a car is supported, with speech recognition for dialling, speech output for user guidance, and an digital echo-cancellation algorithm for hands-free talking.
