An Overview of Ten Years of Research on The Perception of Synthetic Speech

We discuss the perceptual evaluation of synthetic speech produced by rule Since 1979 we have conducted numerous behavioral studies using synthetic speech. Results obtained from several different kinds of experimental procedures are reviewed and suggestions for further research are outlined.
