This paper deals with the technique of Prosody Transplantation as a method to improve the quality of synthetic speech in Text-to-Speech applications. This technique is very useful in applications where at least some messages or parts of messages to be synthesized are fixed. The concept of Prosody Transplantation, its advantages and its drawbacks are described. We also discuss some algorithms and programs to facilitate the prosody transplantation process.
