A mixed team has been set up to analyze the practical details of the cooperation. - Around 160 student attendees at ICSLP 2002 in Denver recently attended an ISCA Student Reception organised with support from local organisers. The aim of the 'Billiards and Beer' reception, which took place at one of the oldest microbreweries in Denver, was to give student attendees the opportunity to network with other students in an informal environment, to meet members of the ISCA board and the coordinators of ISCA special interest groups. Students were also given an information pack about ISCA and a questionnaire requesting their views on ISCA and on membership services that they would like to see expanded. The evening was highly successful and certainly worked as an 'ice breaker', especially for students who were not part of a large group. Student members of ISCA who were not at the reception but who would like the opportunity to give their views on ISCA can request an electronic copy of the questionnaire from the following email address: edu@isca-speech.org. (Valerie Hazan) -Information on on-going theses could be very useful for thesis supervizors, researchers as well as PhD students.A list of speech theses is available at http://HLTheses.elsnet.org - ISCApad publish now a list of accepted papers for publication in Speech Communication.
