*
It is with great sadness that the PC-ICSLP informs of the sudden death
of one of its members, Professor Guan Dinghua, former director of the
Institute of Acoustics, CAS, former President of the Acoustical
Society of China, and Chairman of the ICSLP 2000 conference held in
Beijing. Prof. Guan passed away on March 19, 2003, due to heart
attack. The members of the Permanent Council will always remember the
great kindness of Prof. Guan during the ICSLP conference in Beijing
and be grateful for all the effort he made, together with his team,
to organize that conference.
